Reigning Miss South Africa, Ndavi Nokeri and former Miss South Africa, Shudufadzho Musida will also host workshops.

THE Miss South Africa Organisation is doing things differently this year.

The organisation was supposed open entries to the pageant on Monday, 20 March but the plans changed.

This was so they can have a crash course for aspiring entrants on entering for the pageant.

Stephanie Weil, CEO of the Miss South Africa Organisation, spoke to Daily Sun about the decision and why it was taken.

"In the past, we have always held workshops for the Miss South Africa semi-finalists and finalists which have proven immensely popular and been hugely well received. We have had requests to share some of this knowledge with more people, hence the decision to host the workshops on Instagram," Stephanie said.

She said the workshop will include styling tips with Miss South Africa creative director Werner Wessels, how to best create social media content from the Miss South Africa Organisation social media team, and what being Miss South Africa actually entails with reigning Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri and former Miss South Africa, Shudufadzho Musida.

"There will also be a workshop with life coach, Yvonne Johnston," she said.

She said they want to make sure the entrants know there's more to being Miss SA than beauty and glam.

"Miss South Africa is no longer just a once-off event, but rather a year-round business. It's a brand that provides both a leading voice for women's rights and a platform to effect social change.

"We are committed to helping entrants fulfil their inherent potential rather than merely glossing up their external façade.

Stephanie said contestants will not be just trained as pageant contestants, but also upskilled and shaped into champions for women's rights, thought leaders, brand ambassadors and savvy career women with the tools to fulfil their chosen destiny.

When asked when the entries will open, she said: "Entries will open shortly, watch this space."
