SHEBE Maburna needs urgent leg operation
Popular musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke (31), better known as Shebe Maburna, presented new facts when the court heard he urgently needs a leg operation.
This revelation emerged on Tuesday, 21 April in the Polokwane Magistrates Court, where the star is applying for bail based on new facts.
Doctor testifies about car crash injuries
Maburna's new lawyer, Michael Khumalo, called medical practitioner Dr Malose Phillip Chaba to testify. Dr Chaba told the court he treated Maburna after a car crash in June 2024 and said the star's condition had been worrying.
He revealed that he first saw Maburna in March 2024 when he complained of abdominal pains. He later visited him again at home in July after the accident.
The doctor said after surgery, Maburna wasn't well physically or mentally and struggled badly with sleep.

"We had to give him schedule five and six medication, including strong sleeping pills, because he was in severe pain," said Chaba.

Chaba revealed that now Maburna needs an urgent operation on his right leg known as Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF).
According to the doctor, the procedure is needed as soon as possible to fix a loose screw in his leg.
"If the screw is out, it will affect healing. He will continue to feel pain and the limb could even become deformed," Chaba said.
He said the problem was picked up between September and November, just before Maburna's arrest on 12 November 2025.
Chaba added that he last saw the musician on 11 November and was about to arrange for an orthopaedic surgeon to assess and operate on him, but then he was arrested.
Third bail attempt continues
Meanwhile, the bail application continues before senior Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi in the Polokwane Magistrates Court.
This is Maburna's third attempt at freedom after his first bail bid was denied and his appeal in the High Court was dismissed.
He's facing nine charges, including three counts of attempted murder.
