COMEDIAN Lethu Eljay, whose real name is Soletfu, has announced that he will be bringing back his popular comedy show, The Jokefontein Experience, this year.
The 40-year-old comedian said the return of the show comes at a time when many people in the country are facing economic pressure, unemployment and growing mental health challenges.
He believes comedy can play an important role in helping people cope with these realities while also bringing communities closer together.
The event, hosted by Lethu Eljay, is set to return on 2 May 2026 following the success of its first edition in 2025. The previous show drew comedy lovers and members of the community who gathered for a night filled with laughter and entertainment.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Lethu Eljay said the initiative is about more than just jokes and entertainment.
"This initiative is very intentional, as we use comedy as a tool to spark conversations around mental health while bringing people together through laughter," he said.
He explained that laughter can be a powerful way to help people release stress and momentarily escape the pressures they face in their daily lives.
Lethu Eljay added that creating spaces where people can relax and enjoy themselves is important, especially during difficult times. He hopes the show will continue to grow and reach even more people in the future.
Over the years, the comedian has built a loyal following thanks to his relatable humour and storytelling style.
Through The Jokefontein Experience, he hopes to continue using comedy not only as a form of entertainment but also as a platform to unite communities and encourage open conversations about mental health.
