THE love that Afro-house is getting overseas has inspired internationally acclaimed DJ and producer, DJ Merlon.
He's now on a mission to discover more Afro-house musicians in Mzansi.
The Koze Kuse hit maker, whose real name is Sibusiso Mhlongo from Mbumbulu in the south of Durban not only performs his Afro-music here in Mzansi, but also overseas.
He said he has started to discover many Afro-house artists such as Lucy Luh from Pietermaritzburg in KZN.
DJ Merlon said his love of Afro-house music has resulted in the event called Anywhere in your City, to be held at Blue Lagoon Lawns in Durban on 2 July.
He said although Durban is known as the home of gqom, he decided to focus on Afro-house to open doors for others.
"I don't have jealousy and I believe that for Afro-house to grow, there needs to be more artists for it.
"The event won't be just a music event, but it will be a scene where we will nurture those who are following us in the music. We are getting more Afro-house music artists in Durban, but we still need to recruit more women," he said.

Merlon said producing Afro-house music is not only about DJing for him, but it also opens many doors for him overseas.
"Overseas people love Afro-house music because it's totally different from their music. I recently discovered Lucy Luh and I will work with her on the Anywhere in your City event while I will be looking for others.
"We started the Anywhere in your City in February, and we continued in April and now we are preparing the upcoming one in July," he said.
He said their event will bring the Spain event here in Mzansi with the Anywhere in your City.
If you have not attended the Ibiza event in Spain, then you will feel like you are in Spain.
— DJ Merlon said.
The line-up for Anywhere in your City will be Rocco Rodamaal, DJ Christos, Vinny DA Vince, Culoe De Song, DJ Merlon, Enoo Napa, Sun El Musician, Kasango, Lemon & Herb, Kususa, Argento Dust, and many more.
