MULTI-AWARD-winning gospel star Betusile Mcinga has extended a helping hand to aspiring gospel musicians from his province.
Betusile recently scooped Song of the Year at the Metro FM Music Awards for his hit track, Ngena Noah.
He started a talent search to uplift his province's music.
Betusile told Daily Sun his talent search is called Battle of Municipalities Talent Search, and he's looking for five musicians and groups.
"The Eastern Cape is still left behind when it comes to music because artists still have to go to Joburg to get their success in their careers.
"We started at Alfred Nzo District Municipality a few weeks ago, and we also went to OR Tambo District Municipality while we will visit many municipalities to make young stars' music dreams come true," said Betusile.

He said they will announce winners in East London on 7 September, and start recording them in the studio for their project to be released in 2024.
"The winner will record two songs under our record label. The first song will feature me and my mother, Lusanda Mcinga, and the second one will be for their own.
"We are nurturing future gospel stars who will take over from us when we decide to stop singing. We will make sure that we nurture them to a higher level," said Betusile.
He said this is his way of giving back to his community and helping to take his province's music to a higher level.
"There is so much talent in our province, but few artists are making it to the national level because the province is still left behind," Betusile told Daily Sun.
"We will ensure that we record, promote and market their songs to launch their music careers. The groups will take home equipment and instruments from Yamaha to ensure they do not have sound-related issues for their performance and rehearsals."
