ACTRESS and gospel singer Elle Tisane has entered a brand-new chapter.

The former Muvhango actress is now officially a pastor.

Elle recently graduated with a diploma in theology from Emmanuel Christian University International.

She told Daily Sun she was overwhelmed by finally achieving this dream.

"I'm proud that I kept a promise to myself, grateful that God saw me through this. It's an incredibly humbling feeling.

"I've actually wanted to study theology for years now and it came purely from the need to do more for God. I've definitely been inspired by my mother-in-law who served God seamlessly even when going through challenges," she said.

Elle said this spiritual journey started with a burning desire to understand her purpose more deeply.

"A closer relationship with God, to serve with knowledge, understanding and responsibility. I've been a worship team leader at the church I serve at for years. I had a deep desire to want more alignment with purpose," she said.

Many know Elle as an actress and gospel singer, but she said her calling has always been centred on worship.

"Wow, I'm a qualified pastor, yes, because of studies, but my calling is that of a worshipper, not just in song or entertainment but also as a way of life. A heart that centres on God, honouring God by serving His people.

"I'm of the belief that every Christian should have a basic overview of biblical studies. Should God want me to pastor or head a church, then academically I will be prepared," she said.

Her theology studies, she said, stretched her in ways she didn't expect.

"The course challenges your growth, humility, ethics and maturity in Christ. I got to learn more about discerning the truth. There's also practical ministry training, you gain hands-on understanding of preaching, pastoral care, discipleship and community service. I learnt many lessons that will sustain me for a lifetime.

"This course can only really strengthen and advance the purpose of God. We're created to advance the kingdom of God and the knowledge one has gained can only truly support and sustain the ministry as we serve God in worship," the singer said.

Asked what's next, Elle said she's following God's lead.

"Whatever that God wants of me is what's next. The plan is to continue with studies. I'm starting the journey on the degree qualification while working on recording preparations for 17 April 2026 at the Atterbury Theatre," she said.

She recently released a new album titled In Season, which also forms part of this chapter.

"The album dropped on 10 October, and the story is one of the great intentions that God has about our lives in appointed seasons. Galatians 6:9 has carried me through," Elle said.

After stepping away from the industry for a while, Elle said purpose is what pulled her back.

She said:

"Purpose has always been the reason I keep going in ministry, having had challenges with vocal cords injury for a few years now, it's truly God that I'm still standing, able to even talk, let alone sing. God reminded me that I still have to carry His message. Fear and self-doubt are things I have to curse every single day on this journey. While I wasn't recording, I've always been serving at church plus running my wellness business, and I also have a wedding planning business among other things."

Elle said this new era of her music reflects both trust and growth.

"I approached it with a lot of trust in God. I went with the incredible Siyanqoba Mthethwa as producer for the album, also introduced a few new amazing talents to the team while retaining a few gifted legends that have contributed to my previous music. My sound is consistent but has also matured," she said.
