UKHOZI FM presenter Zimiphi "Zimdollar" Biyela recently found herself in the firing line of Police Minister Bheki Cele.
Now, the police have allegedly served her with summons to appear in court on 12 December 2023.
Although the timing of her summons is questionable as she criticised the police in September 2023 and was blasted by Cele, her charges are linked to an incident from 2020.
She is said to allegedly be facing charges of unlawful possession of firearms, ammunition and stolen property.
Zimdollar recently apologised for what she said about the police and revealed that she is now living in fear because she heard that the police were planning to arrest her, claiming she owns guns.
KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda said confirmed a SABC radio presenter was served with summons to appear before the Eshowe Magistrates Court on 12 December 2023.
"This follows a November 2020 matter where the police found an AK-47 assault rifle, a 22 rifle and 303 rifle, rounds of ammunition as well as a suspected stolen vehicle engine whose number was erased. This was during the execution of a search warrant at her house in Eshowe.
"The investigation has thus far revealed that the 22 and 303 rifles were stolen during a burglary at a house in Richmond in 2016. The suspect will face charges of unlawful possession of firearms, unlawful possession of ammunition as well as possession of suspected stolen property," he said.

Cele blasted Zimdollar during the funeral service of national intervention unit (NIU) member, Warrant Officer Sthembiso Mazibuko in October 2023. Mazibuko was gunned down by thugs during a shoot-out. He blasted her for allegedly encouraging thugs to shoot the police.
This after Zimdollar criticised the NIU police on air after they gunned down her friend, Nkululeko Mkhize in September 2023, questioning the recurring claims by the cops that the victim was armed.
Daily Sun contacted Zimdollar, but her phone rang unanswered. When she was called again after a few minutes, her phone was off. She was also sent WhatsApp messages, but there was no response.
SABC Acting Group Executive: Corporate Affairs andMarketing Mmoni Seapolelo told Daily Sun that the SABC is not aware of thismatter.
"However, matters of this nature are within thejurisdiction of the law enforcement authorities and the SABC will allow thenecessary processes by the law enforcement agencies to unfold" she said.
