REAL Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip (UGT) star Mel Viljoen has been arrested for shoplifting in the USA.
Mel, who was a fan favourite on season 1 of UGT, and her husband Peet Viljoen left Mzansi as refugees to stay in the USA.
According to a Miami-based news publication, Local 10, the couple allegedly stole groceries worth $5 300 (about R87 600).
Local 10 said the police report stated that Mel confessed to stealing due to joblessness.
"She stated she was stealing because she was in survival mode and hasn't worked since coming to the US due to not having a visa.
"Over the course of the last six months, the Viljoens have worked in concert during multiple acts of retail theft," the report read.

Footage from the store showed them stealing from a store located in Boca Raton, Florida.
The items stolen included La Marca Prosecco sparkling wine, San Pellegrino sparkling mineral water, Maison Perrier flavoured sparkling water, and Coca-Cola Zero.
The couple was booked on Tuesday, 10 March.
They each faced an organised retail theft felony charge, and their bond (bail) was $10,000 (around R165 500) each.
Mel and Peet were controversial for owning Tammy Taylor Nails and allegedly scamming people by selling franchises when they didn't own the brand.
They left Mzansi already facing charges of fraud and theft because of that.
