VETERAN actor has a strong message for up-and-coming artists and influencers in the entertainment industry.
Dr Jerry Mofokeng Wa Makhetha said talent alone is not enough.
The 69-year-old from Orlando West, Soweto, took time to school the new generation on the importance of humility, professionalism and proper training.
He told Daily Sun: "The first thing I want young people to realise is that training goes a long way. Talent alone is not enough. Please, be a great human being on and off the set so that when people remember you, when they get your photo, they put it on their walls. You are a great human being. You're just not famous."
Jerry, who holds a master's degree in theatre from Columbia University in New York, has appeared in some of Mzansi's most iconic movies and TV shows.
His notable roles include Tsotsi, Jerusalema, Scandal! and The Forgotten Kingdom. He is also a celebrated theatre director and motivational speaker.

The seasoned actor said discipline is what separates lasting stars from one-hit wonders.
"Every one of those people like the late Don Mlangeni Nawa and the late Mme Connie Chiume and others fully professional. People who leave their house to rehearsals, they have done their homework. And listen to me, the bigger they are, the more down to earth," he said.
Jerry said working with South African greats like the late Hugh Masekela taught him that humility and generosity are key.
"I was fortunate. By God's grace, I've worked with Hugh. I've worked with the Sibongile (Khumalo). I've worked with the big ones. And when you know your story, those people are generous with their talents," he said.
Jerry also cautioned against arrogance.
"It shows how shallow you are, if you come here with an attitude and are a pre-Madonna. We're not interested. Let me tell you, you'll expire very quickly, if you are shallow, vain and proud like that. I promise you that you will expire very quickly."
