JOHANNA Makgalemele, older sister of former Miss SA Basetsana Kumalo, is sharing a painful travel mishap from New York.
The lifestyle entrepreneur broke her foot in Times Square, leaving her in a cast and forcing her to cancel some travel plans.
Johanna said she broke her foot in Times Square, New York, after slipping on the curb while crossing the road and being blinded by the bright lights.
X-rays confirmed the injury after she initially thought it was just a sprained ankle.
"When you fall, you must fall forward, even physically," she said.
Despite the difficulty of travelling with her injury, she hopes her recovery will be quick and uneventful, although she needs to stay off her foot for several weeks or months.
"I'm definitely going to rest and take it easy after my trip to the South of France, as I have the ultimate luxury travel conference there to attend. I've had to cancel my other travel engagements. Let's see how I manage with my foot in a cast. Come with me on my journey to recovery. Thank you for the well wishes too," she said.
Johanna (43) runs Travel With Flair, a luxury lifestyle and travel brand founded in 1996 that curates high-end trips, fashion, and wellness experiences.
