BEHIND every successful song and award is hard work and consistency.
That's what producer and DJ Musa Keys believes is the formula to making it big in the music industry.
The 25-year-old DJ, whose real name is Musa Makamu from Giyani in Limpopo, told Daily Sun that working on his craft is the driving force behind his success.
The Selema (Po Po) hitmaker shared that he's constantly striving to become a better person and a better artist with every project he takes on.
While his work may not always be visible on television screens, the talented muso said he's putting in relentless effort behind the scenes to stay on top of his game.
For Musa, longevity in the entertainment industry isn't just about hits, but about staying true to the culture.
He said being in the industry for many years means a lot to him.
"I'm still pushing culture, it means a lot," he said.
The award-winning artist revealed that his commitment to personal growth has been the key to his continued success. Musa Keys said working on himself has been good for him.

"Being consistent and working on myself and music has kept me going. Might have not been consistent on TV and screens. However, in my personal life, I've been consistent and showing up in everything," he said.
Reflecting on his journey, the producer feels he has evolved significantly as both an artist and a person. He said he always becomes a better person.
"I believe I'm a way better person than I was before," he said.
Musa Keys had some solid advice for aspiring artists and creatives. He said people must be students of their own craft.
"Whatever it is that you love, and you do, be a student of it, keep on learning about it. That's what I do every day when I make music. I learn as I go, it's never ending. I'm always educating myself with so many things," he said.
The stylish hitmaker, who was nominated for Best Styled Artist at the Metro FM Music Awards 2025, also shared his thoughts on the importance of fashion in music.
Musa Keys explained what fashion means to him.
"Fashion means the world to me. There's no music without fashion," he said.
